Light, fire, destruction

Okay, I totally blame anyone who I was chatting with today for this, but I wound up spending a couple of hours on Youtube re-living the highlights of my Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z years.

Of course, I found out about Goku and the gang when I was living in Barcelona as a kid, which means I did not have a FUNimation experience. In fact, some times I think I was watching a totally different series...

Here's a couple of videos to illustrate my point. The first is a medley of songs from Dragon Ball. The songs are PART of the Catalan dub for those episodes, and usually sort of narrate what's going on.

The second is the scene where Gohan achieves Super Sayajin 2 for the first time. A16 gives a speech about the need to protect all living things on earth (the birds, the trees, everything), and then Cell *ahem* steps in. The clip is the whole scene, but things really pick up about 1:20 if you want to skip some of the crazy foreign language talk.

I have no idea how these will seem to people who DON'T speak Catalan, but they amuse the hell out of me.

db, catalan, nostalgia, dbz
