So Alex, Hils, and Paul got here earlier tonight, and I've gotta say I am absolutely ecstatic to see them! we pretty much just chilled here at my house tonight and played some pool and watched TV. They're all asleep now and I'm working on the plan for the weekend before I hit the hay myself. Tomorrow will pretty much be spent Downtown, which is always interesting ;) We're going to be headed off to the Taste of Chicago, and Navy Pier, and Ed Debevics. And it should all kick ass :)
I'm really glad they're here, I've truly been missing hanging out with my good friends. Things have been pretty uneventful here since Linds headed to Cali until whenever things with her family get sorted out. It's been really nice getting to see some friends from HS that I haven't seen in ages like David, Ryan, Joey, and Kathy, but at the same time it's on an entirely other level for me to be able to see friends from school right now. It feels great to know that I have friends that care about me enough to come out and see me. I can't wait until the fall :-D
So in other news, while hils, alex, and paul are here, the parents are on best behavior, which is a welcome reprieve. Things here have actually more or less gotten back to normal, no one have really even brought up the divorce thing since the first talk. It just feels weirder now whenever I do see them fight though, kinda puts things in a whole 'nother light. I don't know, I think I'm going a fairly good job getting over it...most days anyway. In brighter news, my doctors appts are going really well, and the prognosis is looking really solid. I passed my certification for Level 1 DCI Judge! As soon as the paperwork clears it's official. Good lord was Regionals an ass kicker, I was on my feet the whole day floor judging, and I had to run 7 booster drafts! Typically 3 or 4 running at the same time too. The written exam was a massive ass kicker as well, the min passing score was a 70% and I got a 76% even after having read all of the documents I needed to (about 160 pages worth) thoroughly the night before. I always wondered why there weren't more judges, and I guess that's the answer. The entry level exams pretty much excludes people who aren't willing to put out the studying effort. Umm...what else...Classes are going great, I've reached the half way point and they're pretty easy. Yay Bizniz. My transfer to my MIS major finally came through by the way. I'm still going to do what I can to get a Go club set up at UD next year, it's looking like I have a lot of people interested in learning at least, but I don't know what I'm going to do about having enough boards. So I've been attending the Schaumberg Go Club for about a month and a half now and I think I've improved something like 3 ranks since I've been there :) it's so awesome just to get to go and play once a week with people on my level (or in most cases better, but sometimes worse). I think I may be somewhere around 16 or 17 kyu now, but I may be overestimating.
In short, with very few exceptions (glaring though they may be)...Wow, it's been a long time since I've gotten to say this...but life is good :)
