Now you see, this is the weather I have grown to love: not so cold that any exposed skin is endangered, yet cool enough that we can forget, just for a moment, that global warming is at hand. Now is the precious time of the year when simply wearing a hoodie or a sweater will do you just fine, and you won't recieve any strange looks, and while you may look ridiculous in your fur-lined, ear-flapped hat, you certainly won't look overdressed.
Tonight I plan to ring in the cold weather by making a pot of tea, or hot chocolate if I am feeling ambitious, and clad in my warmest pajamas I will knit until my fingers bear permenant dents in their sides. I just bought my first pair of circular needles and a pretty cream-coloured yarn that I like to call french vanilla--though I'm sure that's glorifying it--and I intend to purl a scarf for my mom's birthday in November. If you see me in a week, make sure you ask me how the scarf is going that way if it's not finished I will get embarrassed and thus be prompted to run right home and start knitting!
