Lots to cover

Ok, let's see, Hawaii. Kuaii, in particular, never gets boring. No matter how many time you go there, it's still a picturesque, idealic beauty. Unfortunately, a poor-fitting pair of fins had me moving through idealic beauty with a limp.
My trip to Pullman was something of an ordeal. Six hours waiting in an airport for a flight, six hours in the air (9 hours with the time zone difference), six hours in the car, and what do we find when we get here? Shaun left the keys with a neighbor who then went out of town. So my first night in Pullman was spent in a hotel in Moscow. Anyway, it got straightened out the next day.
Vet camp was an extremely good experience. The class of 2009 is 107 people, with about a 4:1 girl to boy ratio. Hey, with my luck, a statistical advantage is always welcome. As far as I can tell, all of them are really good people. It's really too bad Heather had to miss this; she'd have been right at home.
I know maybe a dozen or so of them and can put names to maybe that many again. Not bad for an introvert. BTW, funny thing: we did these group activities and during one of them we had to say something positive about a groupmate. Anyway, one guy actually described me as outgoing. Pretty damn funny, in my opion. I actually laughed out loud when he said it. Anyway, I think this is going to be a great group with which to go through vet school.
Speaking of which, today was the first day. It's going to be a challenge, 5 to 8 hours of class, 5 days a week, plus my honors thesis, plus work study, plus God knows what else. It's cool though, because I know two of the instructors already. The next few weeks of Micro Anatomy look to be mind-numbingly boring review of basic cell structure and histology. I almost fell asleep today while the instructor was telling us about how nuclei contain DNA...oye...

I'm not thrilled about my house. There's not cable TV and the internet is hit or miss at best. I'm going to have to time the submission of this post very carefully to be successful. Shaun's got some ideas for the internet, so I'll give him some time to try them. After that, I'll just pay to have someone come out here and hook me up.

Shaun's kinda an interesting sort. A fairly avid hunter and apparently a decent Christian, he lacks certain qualities which make me think we won't be long-term friends.

Ok, that's it. Also, anyone waiting for my new address and phone number, I'll get them to you soon, I promise.
