My second training run of the week tonight. I had talked myself into not going (which was not at all helped by the delicious Snyder pretzels I got at the store on the way home), but when I got home I felt too energetic to just slump into my office chair (incidentally, I did not feel quite so energetic when I got home, and am now comfortably slumped into said chair).
I went out and felt good to start. Getting up the hill was a challenge as usual, but coming back down was nice and smooth. The run went quickly although I had some trouble with the iPod. It got too cold and I think it ran out of battery power as a result.
I feel good being home, had a tuna sandwich and am now settling in. Friday I'll run in the morning (I hope), and then Monday is the super-run. One hour out, one hour back.
Incidentally, I read something on one of my favorite blogs, The Apathy Myth (google it) earlier this week about motivation. He suggested putting three things you're looking forward to on a post-it note and putting it in your direct line of sight for most of the day. My super-run on Monday is on the list, and it's REALLY helped. I can't recommend the idea enough.
