It's time for Jeremy to start blogging about running again. We'll see how long I can keep the trend alive!
Plans for this week include 3-mile runs on Monday (today), Wednesday, and Friday. I might try to get a run in this weekend sometime (working and therefore it's hard), but if not this weekend then again on Monday. Right now I'm trying to work up to an "hour-out, hour back" run down Lincoln Avenue which I believe would look a little bit like a half marathon for me.
Ultimate goals include the half marathon here in October and then (if I'm up for it), the Philadelphia Marathon on November 23. Long way to go though.
Today was a quick 3.1 mile jaunt down Lincoln Avenue and back. It was the first time I've run since about January 1, and as a result I planned to go out and take it easy. My body had other plans though, and I actually made one of my best 5K times at just under 29 minutes. The only run on record that I have better than that is my 27:35 5K at the Marigold Festival.
The run started well - uphill as always to start. It was only about 20 degrees out, but thanks to the awesome running gear I got from Nicole's Dad for Christmas, it really didn't bother me until the cool-down phase of my run - how appropriate. Everything felt loose, no pain anywhere. It definitely came back to me quite naturally.
Tomorrow is a day off, and then I'll probably run again on Wednesday after work. If all goes well, I'll probably try my two-hour run next Monday.
