Headaches....

I've always had headaches....all my life. At first, they thought it was my eyes. When I got those fixed, they thought it was my stress level. Since that has been up and down since then, now my mom thinks it's my hormones. I don't take BC, so I don't think that could be the culprit ( Read more... )

Why does preventative medication preclude you from taking something to treat a headache that pops up? I call shenanigans!

I thought that if I was on a preventative medicine, I couldn't take the vasoconstrictors anymore....did I misread it (you're the expert)? If I'm wrong, I won't be as apprehensive about it.

I think its a very limited scope of conflict, but I'll leave it to tha Doc. My experience is peripheral through my sister...

I'll have to ask next time I go see him. I'm not exactly thrilled that I had to change doctors (mine left the practice) and I didn't get a fuzzy feeling from him the last time I had to go. So, I guess I'll wait till next time to ask about it.

have a friend who has chronic migraines and keeps a headache journal.

basically she records *everything* about it. Time, duration, attempted treatments, what she was doing when it started, recent food and drink, intensity, "location" of the pain, type of pain (throbbing, dull, sharp, etc)
