Learning to live together.

I haven't updated in the last little while because last weekend Peter and I finally moved out. We found a great basement apartment: comes with all the amenities we want, close to the subway and lots of stores, etc. etc. I actually wasn't around for most of the moving because I was teaching piano; when I came back the boxes were inside and dinner was in the oven.

The downside is learning to sleep together. Peter and I had slept in the same bed only a handful of times. Every night I've woken up too early or in the middle of the night because of shifting or dryness.

The worst was last night, however. Peter's back started acting up, so in the middle of the night he got up, walked around, and moved the pillowtop off of the mattress so he would sleep under it. The downside was that it woke me up, and every time he shifted it moved the pillowtop (which I was still sleeping on).

This wasn't just disruptive: it was downright terrifying because I had no idea what had happened, and the closest sensation I could compare it to was like being in an earthquake in Taiwan, when the whole building was swaying from each quake. All. Night. Long.

Needless to say, I was not a happy camper this morning.
