I just found this community and I'm absolutely thrilled; I'm hoping that someone here will be able to help me find a fic that I've been searching for for quite a while.
I read it about six months ago, and if I remember right, I found it on remusxsirius. It was an AU where James, Lily and Harry go into hiding using the Fidelius Charm and survive, but Sirius is hurt very badly trying to protect them -- in fact, he's in a coma, and the healers suspect he will never wake from it. Remus is given the difficult task of deciding whether to "pull the plug", as it were, but before he finally makes his decision, a meeting with Regulus (who is in Azkaban) sheds some light upon the situation. Without giving too much away (because it really is an excellent story, and I think you all should read if you haven't already!), Remus decides to leave Sirius, and goes into hiding.
Anyway, I've been left hanging for the past few months because that's as far as I ever got into the story! Due to school, I haven't been able to check livejournal as frequently as I did over the summer, so if this story has been updated at all, then I've likely missed it.
