Disclaimer: I don't own: Toma, Jun, Aiba, Ohno, or Sho...FINE TAKE NINO TOO. D;
A/N: Probably not the most interesting chap, but I had to get this out of the way before anything could start. Also, I fail at summaries.
A lone man ran down the dirt path as the sun began to set. He had to run if he wanted to make it back before dark. Turning onto a secluded and narrow road, he quickly closed the distance between there and his home. Bursting through the door he called out his younger brother's name, his voice worried.
“Sho~” A voice answered back. A younger man walked out of a room not to far from the entrance and ran to embrace Sho. He looked up at him, smiling. “You worry too much.” he whined while pushing a dark strand of hair from his face.
Sho returned the hug and frowned back. “I'm afraid one day I'm going to come back and find you gone, Nino.” He referred to their parents, who one day had just left them both alone to fend for themselves.
A dark shadow pasted over Nino's face as he remembered them. He pouted and knitted his eyebrows together, not wishing to touch upon the subject. He had been only eleven when they left, and Sho seventeen.
Noticing the mood change, Sho took hold of Nino and hoisted him over his shoulder; just like he did when they were younger and more carefree. Nino instantly broke out into giggles as he fought to be let down, returning to his normal, cheery self.
“Stop~ I'm too old for this.” He playfully pounded Sho's back with his fists until he was set back down. Nino broke out into a grin and led Sho by the hand into the nearby kitchen. “I cooked~” he practically sang.
Sho smiled at his childishness and sat down. “Same as yesterday, I presume?” he joked. Ever since their parents had left, they had become poor. Sho worked most of the day while he made Nino stay home. Being the over-protective brother he was, Sho constantly worried that Nino would be taken advantage of due to his weak appearance. Nino was scrawny, and in Sho's eyes, fragile.
“Yep!” he said in an upbeat voice, trying to keep the mood light and cheery. He grabbed and set out two equally filled bowls on the small table. “And it's not burned today!”
Sho laughed at Nino's happy-go-lucky attitude and motioned for him to sit down. They began to eat and Sho turned to look out the window, watching the sun as it set for the day. He turned back to Nino and watched as he devoured his sad excuse for a meal.
Nino began to ramble on about his day thinking Sho was listening. Sho halfheartedly nodded every so often but kept in his own world.
I know I shouldn't be thinking like this, but I can't shake the feeling that something bad is soon going to happen. Sho thought to himself, keeping his eyes to the distance.

“What do you mean that they're gone?!” The Prince's voice bellowed throughout the entire castle.
The guard that was unfortunate enough to be the one that reported the bad news to the furious Prince began to tremble and stutter. “T-they were missing w-when we checked-”
“Speak up!” he interrupted with a shout. He had little patience for bad comings and matters that were always happening.
“If I may take over,” A more calm soldier stepped forward to take the frightened other ones place. He gently nudged the guard back and took off from where he had left off. “This morning the outer fields and bases of the kingdom were checked during our rounds. No one was found at the most active base in the area. Not a soul in sight, dead or alive.” The soldier stepped back and prepared his ears for was coming.
The Prince's face flared up in anger as soon as the speaking had finished. Prince Satoshi Ohno was famous around the Yomi Kingdom for his quick temper. At the moment the kingdom was facing a crisis, it was rumored that war threats had been received from a nearby king, which were true. To add more stress to the situation, the King of Yomi had left to attend foreign affairs elsewhere.
“THEN TAKE CARE OF IT!” Ohno exploded. “Double the guard, triple the servants, I don't care what it takes!”
The guard sighed inwardly before stepping forward again and bowing to the Prince. “As you wish then. The new guards and servants shall be recruited in the morning.” he spoke in a calm voice. He rose up and stepped back into the group.
Ohno let out an aggravated sigh before waving them out. “Captain Matsumoto, I expect not be be let down. Tomorrow I shall see the new workers. Take any able-bodied man that has no important job. If he is strong enough, appoint him to the guard, if not, then he shall be a new servant.” he finished and motioned again for them to leave.
They all bowed in respect before turning on their heels and leaving. As soon as they were out of the Prince's hearing range, a sigh of relief waved through the group. The captain walked over to the still shaken soldier and and gave him a reassuring pat on the back.
“Don't worry Aiba, he's bound not to remember you.”
Aiba looked over at Jun and gave him an doubting look. “You heard how badly I messed up. And as if that isn't enough, tomorrow we have to go tear apart families!” he yelled in frustration.
Jun frowned and nodded in understanding. “I know, but what did you expect me to do? I can't disagree or argue with that Prince unless I have a death wish...”
Aiba's eyebrows knitted together in thought as he paced back and forth. He closed his eyes and let out a long breath before looking back to Jun. “...Do I absolu~tely have to go?” he asked with a whine.
“You go or you face the wraith of Ohno.”
Aiba sighed and left to go prepare for tomorrows duties.

As soon as they finished eating, Nino grabbed both the dishes and put them in the sink. He paused for a moment, debating with himself on whether on not he should tell Sho of his idea. Taking in a deep breath, he turned towards the daydreaming Sho.
“I think that I should start working...” he quickly mumbled.
Sho snapped out of his thoughts and turned to Nino. “Hmm?” he asked, having not understood what he said.
Nino turned around to face the other direction so he wouldn't have to look at Sho. He feared that he would overreact and panic like usual when he mentioned his ideas.
“I think,” he paused and inhaled “that I should start working to help you out-”
“No!” He heard Sho scream before he was abruptly turned around to face him. “I've told you before, you're not!”
“Stop controlling my life!” Nino suddenly exploded, his face reddening in anger. “You never give a reason, you never let me do anything!” His voice quivered as tears began to gather in his eyes. “What are you afraid of?!”
Sho closed his eyes as he gathered his thoughts. I will not lose my Nino.
“I'm afraid you'll leave for good-” he began with his usual excuse.
“GOD DAMMIT, STOP WITH THAT!” Nino interrupted with a shriek. He burst into tears right then and began to pound weakly on Sho's chest. “I hate you!” he kept repeating.
Sho felt his heart tear as he heard the words. Sure Nino could be a brat at times, but he had never gone this far before. He waited patiently as Nino's voice went from a scream to a horse whisper to carry him bridal style to his room and put the now sleeping Nino in his bed. Placing a light kiss on the sleeping man's forehead, he walked out of the room with a heavy heart.
