"I don't see what's so funny," Shige said.
The hand Koyama had over his mouth failed to muffle his involuntary giggle. Shige was wearing that awkward half-smile that meant he was getting irritated, but that only made it more ridiculous: the long white robe, the crooked gold halo, the wings -
"Shut up," Shige said crossly as Koyama dissolved into helpless giggles.
With great effort, Koyama managed to stifle his laughter, but he couldn't do anything about the grin. "So - sorry," he said. "Really. It's not funny."
"Why didn't they make Tegoshi the angel?" Shige complained. "He has the right face for it." Koyama had a feeling there was something about personality left unsaid, but he tried not to think about that part.
"You get a solo shot while the rest of us are paired up," he offered instead. "That's not bad, right?"
Shige's halo slipped down over one eye and he shoved it back up exasperatedly. "I don't want this kind of solo shot!"
Koyama had to hide a grin again. "You could always ask Ryo-chan to trade."
The look Shige shot him was almost comical in its combined disbelief and lethalness. "No."
"Are you sure?" he pressed, not even trying not to grin anymore. "Girls like cute animals." I like cute animals, he didn't say.
Shige's mouth twitched. "Do you want to be the one tell Nishikido-kun he looks 'cute' in that outfit?"
Koyama burst into laughter again - admittedly, slightly guilty laughter - even though he couldn't help a glance around to make sure Ryo wasn't listening. "Fine, Ryo-chan isn't cute to his face. But I am, right? Right, Shige?"
Shige, red-cheeked, said, "I think it's my turn now," which was an answer in itself.
