Hate-watching The Americans
I have never understood the phenomenon of hate-watching before. Now I do. Someone make me stop watching The Americans before I rupture something in rage. I hate the show and all its male characters so fucking much I want them to explode. I love the women, all of them. They are interesting and complex. I want them to have their own show were the men are only guest stars whose eternal Nice Guy bullshit cannot fuck with their lives.
From the very first episode all I can see on my screen is a treatise on Sucks To Be A Woman, Maybe A Nice Guy(TM) Will One Day Consider You His Property And Protect You. Until Then Have Some More Sexual Assault, Harassment and Coercion.
Phillip made it on my very short list of characters I will hate forever and ever amen.
(And I don't even have anyone to hate-watch with me because almost everyone loves this show. I checked.)
