Pan Am 1.05
There are only vague spoilers under the cut.
On a shallow note, I love Kate's eye make-up so much.
Anyway, I don't think the show is doing itself any favour in how episodes are structured. The current format is forcing them into flashbacks if they keep doing destination-episodes. Everything that happens between destination jumps has to be shown in flashbacks that interrupt the flow of the episode and narrative, or need to be told instead of shown. So you end up with A being irritated with B for something that hasn't happened yet on screen because it will be shown later as a flashback. And then you have a scene post-flashback that references something that will be shown later in another flashback. Gah.
Why can't the show turn Sanjeev into a full character and let Ted stay a cipher instead? Every single thing that man says makes me want to punch him in the face. He is a perpetual mansplaining Privilege Denying Dude. He is a black hole of suck. He is so gross.
I need the show to drop the Laura/Ted storyline. Laura seems so stupid when she has a scene with Ted when usually she just seems inexperienced and naive. And then he rolls his eyes and pulls a face alá 'women, what can you do?'. DIAF, Ted.
The show needs more Colette. Lots and lots more Colette. Zero amounts of Ted.
