I never 'liked' Achilles. But he's a very interesting character. I will love this fandom!! Whee!
You mean there may be Helen/Hector fic in your future? *squees*
I was gaping, jaw hanging open like a braindead monkey. Wait, there was an interview with Eric *rushes to find it*
Q: There seems to be a little bit of an attraction between Hector and Helen.
BANA: Alright! You picked up on that! Yeah, good.
Q: Is that in The Iliad, or was that something that Wolfgang wanted to kind of introduce?
BANA: I joked with Wolfgang that Hector and Helen were having an affair. But no, I didn't play that out in the film, but I wanted it to be... I thought it would be too simple if Hector had a disdain for Helen, and I didn't want that to play. I wanted him to slowly come to terms with the fact that he was the key to his brother's happiness with this woman, and [Hector] had to warm to that, and I wanted him to warm to that. So, it would be natural that he would kind of warm to Helen as well. So, I heightened the play on that, but we didn't have a kissing scene or anything. (Laughs)
I love the guy!
And just because.
Q: Orlando Bloom puts in a wonderful performance, too.
BANA: Orlando I love to death. We've worked together before. And when he was cast has my younger brother it was just a great fit, and I hope that shows in the film. I love working with Orlando. We very quickly developed an older-brother-younger-brother kind of relationship and it's not just because of having played his older brother, but I still feel very protective of him; always following what he's doing and keep in regular contact. He's someone who's very close to me.
Not that I'm opposed to the pairing, okay, I am opposed to anything involving this woman. I'm not prone to hate characters, but she makes my skin crawl. So much.
The logistics of that pairing though, they never met. Not that the fact has ever stopped me when it comes to RPF, but media fic. Achilles died before Andromache was taken as a spoil of war.

Though God(s) know when I'm going to find time to write that. *whimpers*
(Delightful interview snippets, though!)
