Writing an essay synopsis

Mar 29, 2007 15:00

I'm revising an essay to appear in an anthology, and the editors would also like a 150-word synopsis. I haven't written for an anthology before, and this isn't in my usual field either, so I don't have examples to look at and could use advice, please.

Should a synopsis of this nature cover the entire essay or just introduce it? Also, should it be written from the same perspective as the essay itself, or should I use language that refers to the essay? (Or should I just write it however I please and let the editors tell me if they want something different?)
