So, this weekend was pretty awesome. Went w/ anthony up to MTU to visit beth. We got an early start up there friday and the temp dropped like 35 degrees from lansing to Houghton. We went through some major tomfoolery and then on the way home we were amazing drivers. Totalling 3 tickets inside of four hours. He got 2 and I one. Mine was ticketed for 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. The fine is $95 and 2 points on my liscense. I was concerned about insurance hikes and whatnot, and I found something very interesting under the michigan vehicle code 628(11):
A citation or civil infraction determination for exceeding a lawful maximum speed limit of 55 miles per hour by driving 65 miles per hour or less shall not be considered by any person in establishing automobile insurance eligibility or automobile insurance rates.
So apparently, my insurance is not in trouble. We'll see how it works out. Awesome weekend even though it ended up being much more costly than we anticipated.
