A/N: So I've always wanted to write an idol!AU, and so here it is. Episode title that inspired this was "Tomorrow" and the fic title comes from "I'm Gonna Be a Star" by TWICE.

The energy of the crowd hyped up the band, and she grinned as she and her group performed their number. It invigorated her in a way that she only managed to feel twice-once, with her mother as they danced along to some song, and again when she managed to get into this agency. Her idols came from there, and she was so happy to be in the same place as them.

And now, with her group members, as they dominated the stage in a new place, she couldn’t help but to feel more and more excited. It was a debut to remember, and she couldn’t help but to think that all the blood, sweat, and tears that it took to debut.

She also loved being their leader, loved being the group’s representative. Her group members were hard-workers, and she thought that they would go further than their labelmates. Frey wanted to go further than just appealing to the male audience-she wanted to appeal to both sexes and to more than the audience in their country.

It was fun to see her group members grinning happily, and she grinned at them in response. She loved that the crowd loved their debut title track, “Starry Skies”, and she hoped that they would continue to receive such support as they had their comebacks.

The rest of the show was a blur, of thanking those who were supportive even before their debut and how they hoped they could live up to their expectations. She knew that the other members said something along the same line, and then they were led off the stage to wait for the other groups to perform.

It wasn’t an easy road to debut. Frey was with the company the longest-spanning six years-and she had originally been slated to be a soloist. But then they added another six girls slowly, from her second year of training to her fourth, and she ended up becoming the leader of a girl group as she was the one with the most experience.

There were times their label threatened them with disbandment-before debut-if they weren’t performing to the best of their abilities. She remembered at least one of them crying as their managers forced them to perform and perform and perform the same routine.

It was easier to debut this time, to gain hype with pre-debut songs and covers of other popular songs, or her labelmates said snidely. Frey knew that it was easier that way to gain fans, but it still hurt her feet as she practiced cover dances for hours on end, and she knew the other members also felt the same.

It was Forte’s hand on her shoulder that pulled her out of her thoughts. She smiled warmly at her as they entered the stage, in the back as all rookies are, and she clapped loudly for the group that got the most votes for their stage performance. While it would have been nice to win, she did love the winning song, and she knew they worked hard to perfect their performance.

“That was so much fun,” Amber whispered, still awed by the magnitude of what they managed to accomplish.

Off to the side, she could see that Margaret looked as if she would collapse out of nerve, but she took a deep breath and steeled herself. Frey knew that Margaret was the newest member, and that she was the one with the least experience performing as an idol (Frey had seen her audition, and she knew that Margaret was a confident performer.)

Dolce and Forte were both fairly calm, on the outside, but she knew that Dolce was worried about how they did in the company’s eyes and Forte was nervous about how their fans received their debut song.

That wasn’t to say that she, herself, wasn’t nervous about how they did. But she did learn early on how to handle the stress of performing so her training time wouldn’t be wasted to a mistake made in presenting herself to the public.

Xiao Pai was bright and a bit clueless, in Frey’s brutal opinion. She was cheerful, but she also stumbled a lot into situations where she had no business in being. Frey loved her like a little sister, but she also couldn’t blame other people for getting a bit frustrated with her.

Her group was amazing, but it felt incomplete. Not incomplete-that was the wrong word-but it felt lacking. She felt like something was missing that stopped her group from reaching their full potential.

“Frey, let’s go,” Margaret said, quickly holding onto her hand. She was giggling softly, and Frey thought she was blushing a bit. The lighting might have been the reason why her cheeks looked a bit redder, but Frey didn’t know for sure.

She disregarded the idea that Margaret was blushing because of her-if she was blushing, it had to be because of their performance.

Now, she knew that they wouldn’t be the best they could be as they had too much to do, but she knew that they would one day become on of the biggest idol groups out there.
