MSU tried to poison me again. It was asian night in McDonald (somplete with study abroad reps and some sort of station where people were folding origami and learning different letters) and there was tempura and miso and gyoza and stuff and most of it was so crappy that even I was surprised. The veggie tempura was surprisingly good although I did skip out on the tempura sauce that looked rather suspicious. There was also some sushi out by the salad bar and kimchi and some sort of tofu salad that looked too suspicious to eat (last time I ate tofu at McDonald it made me sick). So I took a couple takuan rolls because I love pickled daikon so. They were very yummy. Then they had a soup bowl labeled miso and when I lifted the lid it looked like beef stock or something. I stirred it up since miso tends to settle and mainly it lifted up carrots, leeks, and tofu and smelled kinda like barf. Why this didn't prevent me from taking a small ladle I have no idea (hope for miso soup springs eternal). I ended up just barely dipped my soup and catching only the broth and taking a tiny tiny sip. I thought I might die. XDXDXD The taste was so awful that I had to spit in my napkin, wipe my tongue, and then I shoved some rice in my mouth to try and absorb the foul concoction. XDXDXDXD
If I had stuck with the tempura, takuan, and koucha it would have been a good night. Why they had jasmine, "Japanese black", but no green was kinda buuuh.
