The more I delve into the fashion world during my paid time at work (I know, I seem to be a petty criminal stealing time at my corporate job), the more I'm really thinking of taking a dive into Parsons' new Masters in Fashion and Society program. If they had something similar to do here in L.A., particularly in the P.R. industry, then I'd just spend less staying here. For now, I'll stick to the blogs.
Early last week, I discovered this new tweenage blogger by the name of Tavi Gevinson (www.tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspost.com -- err, hope that's right), who has become like my new fave anti-hero. While I feel like totally disliking her for getting a lot of attention from designers (Miuccia's Stylist and herself sent her a lip-print skirt from seasons ago), I actually I'm glad someone her age is taking the road I wish I'd taken at her age. I wish I knew myself then; though, I think if that were me in Inglewood, I'd end up with a bloody outfit. Then again, that could've been sort of avant-garde.
As Ayn Rand said, "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: the fashionable non-conformist."
Time for bed.
