Who: Yamamoto Takeshi (
sereins) and Gokudera Hayato (
untracked).
What: Your typical rendezvous, with a side-helping of RAGE because Yamamoto was being an idiot.
Where: ... scre. LET'S SAY FOUNTAIN.
When: Night time?! Wao, do these guys NEVER SLEEP.
So it was going to be like this.
Gokudera couldn't remember why he even briefly considered treating the older (and wrongly assumed to be smart) Yamamoto Takeshi a tad bit better than he usually regarded his younger counterpart. Maybe it had been a mild case of here, I trust you, and since you're older, you can't screw up as much as you would if you had been younger, but- that was easily broken. Ripped into pieces. All because Yamamoto decided to poke fun at him and laugh carelessly like he always did.
It grated on Gokudera's nerves, when did it ever not, but it was a welcomed (albeit reluctantly) distraction. Something familiar to take his mind off things that he really should be worrying about- how are they going to get back, they need to find a way out, and he needs to make sure they stay alive while looking for it- things that a right hand man should really put more effort into thinking about all the time, but somehow it just slipped his mind. Shit. He was getting careless, and he couldn't afford to be, he knew it, not while the Tenth was here and he knew fuck all about this place.
And it didn't really help that Gamma was here now, too. It wasn't like he still saw him as an enemy- more like someone he could go to for the information he needed, about Millefiore, about Byakuran, and he really needed to find a time to ask him about this- but somehow, it was still unsettling.
But no.
Prioritize, he was telling himself. Prioritize.
Right now, what he needed to know- was all with Yamamoto. That guy had been here before, hadn't he? And if he didn't prove to be an asshole today, then maybe Gokudera would come closer to figuring out everything he needed to figure out. He was taking it one step at a time, let's worry about this first, and then worry about what'll we come back to once we get the hell out of here-
That sort of thing.
So, when he finally found Yamamoto, he started with this: "Tell me everything you know about this place. Don't skip a single detail. I want everything." He skipped the pleasantries, because they could deal with that later. Much later.
