Who: Aoyagi Ritsuka (omoidezukuri) and everyone who wants to come to the picnic
What: Picnic, because they never got to.
Where: By the water (green zone)
When: Right here and now! Think of it like the ball log? So there can be people coming and going and having conversations in various threads. There's no real plot/accomplishment, so we don't need to keep it linear. :)
Ritsuka wasn't really sure what he was expecting. He had no idea why he had remembered the plans Kairi and her friends made for a picnic, or why it should even matter to him whether or they actually went through with it. When he thought about it, he had to agree with that other boy that a picnic seemed pointless, if not ludicrously out of place. But was there a point to anything else they'd been doing? The fire plane had been reversed, yes, but Ritsuka didn't believe it was because of anything they did. He distinctly remembered fighting for his voice in front of the fire elemental, a far cry from heroically saving the day.
So if they weren't effective in any other task, what did it matter what they did in their few moments of relaxation? Naturally Ritsuka hadn't forgotten about trying to find a way home, but... he was almost looking forward to the picnic. Maybe this time no one would get hurt or threatened. Maybe they could just... be normal.
Whatever normal meant.
Ritsuka wanted to do the thing properly, so he and Soubi showed up twenty minutes before the arranged time, arms laden with food and mismatched blankets. The spot they had picked out was a bit patchy, but there wasn't much they could do about that. It was, however, right by the water, which lapped lazily at the damp sand. The sun wasn't too bright, but better than it had been, certainly. Ritsuka set down his armful of supplies with a soft sigh, his face set in a determined look as he began to unpack everything.
