Who: Yuffie, Reno, Rude
What: That which sounds suspiciously like kidnapping
Where: Undisclosed location somewhere in the residential area
When: After this.

Reno had never cared for this part of his job. Kidnapping, negotiating, whatever they were calling it at the time, was always messier than he liked to deal with. That wasn’t exactly what he was doing, but it was close enough. That he was inclined to fall into the old pattern, without orders or as much as a direct threat, made him wonder why he insisted on making so much work for himself.

He knew that if they were going to keep their deal with Hojo, he wanted to avoid as many complications as he could. But Yuffie Kirasagi had been insisting to go after Hojo for weeks, and the scientist wasn’t doing himself any favors in getting involved with Vincent. Even with Tifa on Reno's side, if he kept up his activities, it was more likely they’d go after him. And the less the Turks had to clash with Cloud and his group, the happier he’d be. Reno wasn’t particularly known for his diplomacy, but if he could simply reason with her, he would.

If he couldn’t, then they’d have to go with another plan.

Finding a building that served their purposes had been harder than he’d expected. As the city became more populated, there weren’t as many secluded areas that were safe to use. The one they had finally found was more of a shack than a house, but at least it didn’t have any squatters inside.

He rolled his arms to keep anxiety from creeping into his stance. Rude wasn’t far from him; scanning the area for anyone who might walk past. His partner was the only one aware of their meeting with Yuffie. Even with Duke there, Reno wasn’t compelled to report his plan to the rest of the Turks. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the others, but he knew he didn’t arouse the same kind of loyalty that Veld or even Tseng did. Val and Elena didn’t have the authority to go against him anyway, and with the way Duke had been acting… well, he didn’t seem to have the Turks best interests at heart. But the legend was at least a convenient distraction for them.

It had actually all been pretty easy so far. The Wutai ninja didn’t have any reservations about meeting them. Knowing what he did about Yuffie, she’d probably stick around as long as he liked if he promised to get her some materia by the end of it. And there was always the information Hojo had sent him that he could bargain with if he got in a bind.

With those thoughts in mind, he decided that there wasn’t any point in over thinking it. They’d play it by ear, and hopefully by the end of it she would see things from their perspective and carry that back to the rest of her group.
