A/N - I still don't know how long this will be or how many of the SPN characters I'll be able to get in.
A/N 2 - I'm still learning about the DC universe. Most of what I know comes from Smallville (please don't hate me) and watching the New Adventures when I was younger so I have embellished a little with some parts.
Castiel Kent was the star reporter at the Daily Planet. To most people he was the dorky guy in the long trenchcoat with the weird first name. To the staff at the Planet, he was just a normal guy in a normal relationship with his fellow reporter Amelia Lane. He came in, did his job, went home with Amelia and that was it.
Part of the reason that he and Amelia had lasted so long was that they had no secrets from each other. None at all. To Amelia, Castiel was not only the love of her life, but he was the city's protector. He was Superman.
Born Kal-El on Krypton, he was sent away by his parents as a baby to Earth to keep him safe. He was adopted into the Kent family by Martha and Jonathan and grew up in Kansas in the small own of Smallville. It was while at high school he would later meet the man who would be his greatest enemy - Alistair Luthor. The two had started out as friends but an argument over a woman - Lana Lang - had caused irreparable damage to the friendship and by the time both of them had moved to Metropolis in their early twenties they were sworn enemies.
What didn't help was that Amelia's affections has also been courted by Alistair. To lose a woman he loved to Castiel twice was humiliating for them young man. He had a nervous breakdown and went into seclusion for five years.
When he emerged - at the Centennial celebrations of his family business LutherCorp - he was a man with a mission. He'd discovered Castiel's true identity and was set on exposing him and then destroying him little by little. He'd tried everything he could think of legally at first - looking through the adoption records, bank records, anything he could get his hands on and try and use as leverage to get Castiel to leave for good. But he found nothing.
SO he just decided to get rid of him the old fashioned way - killing him. Which he could happy keep in the family. His younger sister, Lutessa Luthor was known as the "Reaper". Her speciality was getting rid of people quietly. Of course being an assassin for hire gave her all the contacts and training she and her brother would ever need.
The only falling out the siblings had was over Amelia. Tessa wanted her dead for hurting her brother and picking "that assbutt Castiel" but Alistair wanted her alive. So, after Tessa threw a hourglass at Alistair's head, the two came to an agreement. Alistair would give Tessa her own private island in return for killing Castiel and bringing Amelia to him so that he can get his happy ending.
So Castiel, Alistair and Tessa had been in a battle with each other ever since. So far, Castiel had been able to keep Amelia out of the worst of it but she knew that a day would come when he couldn't protect her. But rather than accept that, he travelled back to Krypton to seek help. The Kryptonians couldn't take her in as she was a pure human but they did grant Castiel knowledge of a great secret - every Kryptonian has a twin.
Castiel returned to Earth and set out to find his twin. Sadly, Alistair had found her first. She was the receptionist at the Metropolis Grande Hotel, Anna Milton. She was currently being held at LuthorCorp's facility in Black Creek, Montana.
Castiel realised the facility would be impossible to get into thanks to a kryptonite powered shield. Also, every one of the three hundred armed, former special forces, guards were equipped with kryptonite tipped bullets for their weapons.
He needed help and fast if he had any hope of rescuing Anna.
But he was brought back to reality by the sound of a knock on his door.
"Excuse me, Mr Kent. Dean Winchester's on line four. He says it's urgent."
A/N 3 - Any suggestions as to who else I should add in and what part they have are welcome. I have a rough idea of who's who but any suggestions would be good
