A/N - My knowledge of the DC Universe is, at best, basic so bear with me. This was sparked off by kruel_angel posting an adorable picture of Batman!Dean and Superman!Cas

On the surface, Dean Winchester had a charmed life. He lived in a palatial mansion with enough money to ensure he never had to work a day in his life and he could have any woman (or man) he wanted. He was the man everyone wanted to be. C.E.O of Winchester Enterprises and the most successful member of the Winchester dynasty to date, far surpassing his father, the late John Winchester.

Of course, things hadn't gone smoothly for the young Dean to begin with. His parents murdered by a mugger when he was a child. He was raised mostly by the family butler, Bobby Singer and was hounded by the press the day he announced he would pick up where his father left off. But he'd had to fight for it. The board of Directors wasn't keen on letting the young man take over so suddenly and they had tried, at first to oust him. But an impassioned speech on his 20th birthday brought them round.

Now, ten years later, he was a success and the company was bigger than ever. Along with his younger brother, Sam, they formed a company that was now worth the combined value of it's nearest ten competitors.

But the boys held a secret. Something no-one outside the walls of Winchester Manor knew. The murder of their parents had an unexpected effect on the two young men. They had decided that what happen to them should never have to happen anyone else. So Dean, inspired by the bats that lived under the house, took on the identity of Batman.

As Batman, he would fight the wrongs of this world and help the people of Gotham City when they cried out for help. During the day he would be a philanthropist and at night would secretly aid the police in their fight on crime.

Sam had wanted to join him right away but Dean thought it too risky. So he asked Bobby to help Sam construct a base of operations under their home. No-one knew the house as well as Bobby did and Sam was a technological genius. Add in Dean's love of pretty much anything with four wheels and an engine and it only took them six months to have a working base.

Bobby would be the eyes and ears of the operation, Sam would guide Dean to where he needed to be (when he was training) and Dean would be out doing what he did best. Fighting the bad guys.

Of course there were the ones who went easily - petty crooks, muggers and the like - but for every hero there is always a villain. For Dean it was Fergus Crowley aka "The Joker". The two had crossed paths more times then either would care to mention and each time it would always end the same way. Crowley would be fioled but he would always escape. His 'style' was to go after the best of everything.

His current project was The Alphas - a collection of precious gemstones and rare artefacts that were deemed to be the first of their kinds. Crowley wanted to be the first man in history to own them all at the same time. He'd managed to buy one or two of them legitimately but there was still over half the collection in locked vaults all over the city. Dean had never been able to figure out why they were being kept here when the police knew Crowley was likely to try and steal them.

Not that the police could have bone anything about it. Crowley had his own empire - he was the owner and C.E.O of Highness Entertainment and Luxury Liners or H.E.L.L for short. If that wasn't enough, his right hand woman Meg Masters was the most ruthless lawyer in the city. Dubbed "Two-Face" by the media, she had a reputation in the early days of cosying up to corporate business men, persuading them to sell their companies to Crowley and them disposing of them when the deals were done.

The ones who tried to fight back didn't last very long. Normally they would give up but a couple of them died in 'accidents' not long before the trials were due to begin. Meg and Crowley were always questioned but there was never enough evidence to actually charge them with anything so everytime they walked free, head held high, spinning it into another yarn about how they were just there as 'business associates helping the police with their investigation' and sending shares sky high for another week.

So Dean did something he'd never really wanted to do but he knew he has to.

"Daily Planet, how may I direct your call?"

"Can I speak to Castiel Kent please?"
