Political polls are generally a point-in-time pulse of potential voters - what it says today is of no use tomorrow (and may even be wrong today). So they tend to be single-use, disposable items - until now.
One enterprising individual is using Republican polling data from the recent leadership race to develop
sex toys. Butt plugs, specifically.
(Matthew) Epler took the data from Gallup’s website, and converted it into a 3-D shape by rotating it around the zero axis. The result was 3-D printed and used as a mold for casting the plug. “I researched different materials for the final product - chrome, aluminum, colored Pyrex glass,” says Epler, “but in the end, the classic black silicone seemed the best and funniest.”
As with any anal sex toy, there were some design challenges. You’ll notice that the final butt plugs are somewhat smoother than they appear on the Gallup site. “Data rarely comes to us in a fine enough grain to produce smooth contours, at least smooth enough to insert in an intimate orifice,” says Epler
And, if nothing else, it gives me an opportunity to flag "sex toys" and "politics" in the same blog post. :-)
