I love people who just assume that I have a boy friend. But I absolutely adore people who assume that a picture of one of my brothers pinned to my office wall is my boy friend. *rolls eyes*
I have pictures of my three nephews, Danny & Stefanie with the lovely redheads - my nieces, and one of Evan because he's serving a mission in Ohio right now and I won't be seeing him any time soon.
I should just start telling people, "Yes, that is my boy friend. Isn't he handsome?" and then write Evan a letter and tell him that I've been doing that. He'd either be weirded out or he'd think it was hilarious. I vote for the latter.
At least Security Guard #1 didn't vocalize his assumption before asking me who the people were in the pictures. After I told him he asked, "The boy friend?" I just shook my head and said no instead of sighing and crawling under my desk. lol
But let's just say for a moment that I do have a boy friend. I'm not sure if I'd even put a picture of him up where I work unless we'd been dating for a LONG time or he proposed to me a month ago. I just don't know if I'd be comfortable with that.
However! If he looked like, say...Johnny Depp I'd not only put pictures of him up all over my office and bedroom (including candids of us snogging!) but I'd probably just staple a shot of him to my forehead facing outward.
And I would say things like, "Yes, I come home to that every evening when he holds me in his arms, reads poems by Pablo Neruda to me while he rubs my hands to keep them warm and I gaze into the firelight. Sometimes we just talk softly, sitting closely, our foreheads resting against each other.
Afterwards, he feeds me red seedless grapes one by one while doing his excellent Jack Sparrow impression because he likes to hear my laugh."
*ahem!* Yeah, I MIGHT pin up hypothetical boy friend's picture then. Because I like grapes!
Suddenly, I find myself craving chocolate...
