Archeologist

On saturday I participated in a Archeological dig on the border of Elk River and Ramsey. It was soooo cool. We found pieces of pottery that they estimate was from 700-1000AD, that's over 1000 years old! We found lots of other artifacts from the Ancient Native Americans that lived there so many years ago. That was only on day 2 of the dig, so far those are pretty good finds for just the second day. I signed up to do it again next saturday too since I had so much fun.

Archeology was my original major in college and I have studied it since I was about 10. This dig was run by teachers and students at SCSU, where I had previously studied Anthropology. It really is my passion and I felt so comfortable with those people. I changed my major back to undecided because I just don't know what I should do anymore. My original plan was to get my phd and be a professor of Anthropology with an emphasis in Archeology but that is a lot of school and I feel like I need a career sooner then that. The teachers and students at the dig were sort of trying to talk me back into sticking with that as my major but I just don't know anymore. One of the Archeologist/teachers at SCSU gave me his card and told me I should contact him when I go back to school in the fall. That made me feel really good.

I had a lot of fun and really felt in my element but it made so much more confused then I was before.
