vatavian kindly lent me a power supply, which, when attached to the Dell 8300, made it happily start up. Indeed, the PSU was the culprit; I should have just waited for a spare PSU before jumping ahead and messing around with the power button board.

While working on it, I developed an idea for a new kind of lolcats-style photo: a loldiety!
