The 'rents battle on, using Lee as their tuggy-toy.
I love how Laura uses that soft, concerned voice on the phone and just plays Lee like a tiny, screechy violin. (Spaceson Billy's in the back listening!)
Then faces down Dad and Baby Boy in Bill's quarters. I think this confrontation is when Bill first starts to take her seriously. Because she rather deftly removes his stones and drops them in her pocket. She gets his Bestie on her side, cracks Lee like a twig and stares him down. Even being behind that desk that strikes so much fear in Lee does nothing to Laura. Game, match.
Bill has to do the toughest thing evah, but Laura joins him on the CIC, whether to support him or make sure he doesn't back out, we don't know...
But she feels his pain, sees him holding back when there's a shred of hope. Sees a man who's accustomed to disappointment. Note her smile in the background. She can believe it before he'll allow himself to do so.
And shares his joy when it's true. (Another great smile, Aussie!)
All is forgiven and Daddy gives Kara a goodnight kiss. *sniffle*
