Pop watched the American Thanksgiving Parade this afternoon. Just like every year he told the story of the year his family went to America to visit some distant cousins. Guess they didn't hit if off very well since I've never been to America.
Either way, he always uses the American holiday as his benchmark for preparing for Christmas. But it's not the same. It hasn't been the same since Mom died. She made the best Christmas fudge. Pop tried to make it that first year and he burned the chocolate. I need to rewrite her recipe cards so I don't have to keep using them. I'd love to have her holiday recipes saved so I have them years from now in her own handwriting. Once the new year starts I'll have to ask Charlotte if she knows anyone that can preserve them properly. I could try some preservation spells but I'd probably mess the cards up.
I should start making my Christmas list soon. I should send something to Susan. Seamus and Charlotte need something for the baby. Charlotte should get something small just because I'm sure several people will be all baby focused. Seamus, Fred, George, and Ron are all technically my bosses so I should get them all something. I should probably get something for Dean as well, but how involved should the gift be? And why do I feel I'm probably forgetting someone?
