people don't know how to read lj

does anybody write in livejournal anymore? 3 years ago this was the THING to do. oh well. this used to be the way to keep in touch with people's lives anyway... well, if anyone is reading i'll give some sort of update.

i'm going to graduate from dean high school (yeah, you read right) in a couple months, and it couldn't come sooner. i've learned here, but more than not i've just been wasting time. when i get to oklahoma things are going to take a kick-my-ass sort of turn which is exactly what i need. i don't know, i have great feelings about it. have you heard the actors fund benefit of hair? it's amazing- just letting you all know.

there are all these people at dean, and yet i'm the only tenor??! how does that work. there's a freshman who might be a tenor, but no body is really sure yet. i love my craft, and i love the kids in this dept, but doesn't it bother them that there are maybe 4 out of 20 musical theatre majors who can even read music? legit. nobody in new york cares how much you enjoy doing musicals, if you don't even know how to read the sheet music they give you they'll move on to the next person in a flash. dean college, you're ruining kids lives!!
and instead, i get called cocky because i am one of the few ELITE who read music? i play multiple instruments as well, and can partially accompany myself on the piano... god knows what THAT means i am..

oh to be at ocu.. where everyone can sight read and know what 'intunation' means.

ps, i love you, you're perfect, now change is going well. andy+being musical director= hectic.

i have to go to jazz 3. the class is wonderful other than the fact that our teacher is leaving for a couple weeks and we're gonna have the new hiphop guy. not so excited. alas.
