we got back from festival today. it was just as fun as i had expected, and at the same time more of a horrible time than i had expected. in the end its always the fun stuff we all focus on anyway, so let us all revel in the alcohol-fest that is festival!
sarah and i didn't even make it past the first round of the irene ryans, but no one from dean did. i got tons of compliments on our scene though- from other actors and from my judges, so it's all gravy.
i posted pictures on facebook (as did many other deanies) so check them out there. good stuff.

cast went up for pippin while we were at festival too. i'm pretty happy with the cast, which is a rare thing indeed. anyway, i'm pippin, joe is charles, sarah is fastrada, and jamar is louis. this means that joe is my father, sarah is my mom, and jamar is my brother. i remind you that jamar is black. lol. it'll be a good way to end off the year and my time at dean. oh man, i can't WAIT to graduate... i'll miss jax and jamar and all the rest of the first years, but i need to get out of this place.

lastly, can i say that assassins was horrible. bridgewater put it on. the sets rocked, as did the pitt and other technical aspects, but the singing talent was nonexistant. dean could have done a thousand times better, vocally, which is sad indeed. regardless, after so many heavy straight plays (4-6+ hours a night worth) a musical was a nice breath of fresh air- even if it was cratty singing air. we saw some horrible plays, and some great ones. my highlights would have to be children of a lesser god (if you ever get the chance to see it, DO. it's next to impossible to put on because the entire cast has to do the whole show in sign language. yeah, not so easy. but SOOO powerful.) the worst show was called the bewitched. it was this 5 hour play (thank god cut down to 3 and a half hours for us) which made NO sense. random, and horrible. we have great inside jokes from it though. but, I KID YOU NOT, one of the set peices was a 6 foot golden penis. no, SERIOUSLY.
