I am now wearing short sleeves and do not desire a jacket at all what so ever!!!
Happy Chinese New Year's eve from Jinghong in Xixuangbanna!
I am in the tropics and truly feel as though I am on vacation. I got a little sun yesterday and drank a pina coloda.
The palm trees here are short, wide and have branches that droop all the way to the ground. The food here is great. Last night for dinner we had a pineapple filled with sticky rice, beef sauteed with mint, stewed fern; not my choice, but ok, fish stuffed with lemon grass, some veggies and lemon pancakes to finish.
After Lijiang we went to Dali and went on an awesome fishing trip with a local couple in the lake. It was the most amazing thing. They used cormorant birds to do the fishing for them. They tied string around their necks so that the birds would not have the ability to stretch their necks and swallow the fish they caught and then the locals took the fish from each birds' mouth.

Also while in Dali I got a couple of pairs of pants made from hemp, one black and one green. Uber comfy!!!
I saw the super bowl over here semi-live complete with Chinese play by play!
I got a response from the PC via email, but have to wait until I see my snail mail to get my password to log into my tool kit to continue the application process. We fly back into Beijing on the 11th.
