We are Nowhere

The show was needless to say amazing. Tilly and the Wall were really good, and Coco Rosie...in the beginning I liked it but towards the end the high pitched stuff...it sort of hurt my ears, and the video/pictures really interesting, I liked it sort of.

We got a call on our way there from a friend that was already at the Riviera saying they were making people throw away our cameras. Disappointed as I was, I left my digital in the car....turns out a bunch of people had theirs inside [digital cameras, and I saw one or two disposable], another friend said they took her battery, but she had another one in her pocket, and according to her they gave the battery back after the show. Anyway, the point was that I was mad that I didn't get to take pictures since there was a sign that said, Sorry No Cameras, and yet there were lots of people who still had them. :(. Oh well, there's always next time, where I'll bring both my batteries and they will only know of one. ::snicker:: So yes, sadly no pictures...this time.

Bright Eyes...ah, lovely. Most of the songs were from his upcoming, I'm Wide Awake, it's Morning, but thanks to Kara for burning me them earlier and we knew the songs...[but I still plan on buying the real ones..].

The songs played [that I can remember]
opened with: "At the Bottom of Everything"
"We are Nowhere and It's Now"
"Make War"
"A Scale, A Mirror And Those Indifferent Clocks"
"The First Day of My Life"
"Padraic, My Prince"
"Train Under Water"
"The First Day of My Life"
"Poison Oak"
"Old Soul Song"
(I don't know the title) but he played a song about the president talking to God, and it was amazing.
Then as his "last song" he played "One Foot In Front of the Other" (Landlocked Blues) and what was really funny was that out of no where he just stopped. And he said something pretty much like, "Sometimes artists forget the words to their songs.." and I think someone told him because then he said, "i know ...i know." And then he changed the position of the microphone, and he started over again.
and then he said "Thanks" left the stage. Seeing as the lights didn't go on, we just waitd there.  And after a few minutes, he came back and played more songs.
His last song was, "Road to Joy."and at the end, he threw his guitar in the air and just let it fall, I didn't see the guitar in the air, but I just saw him with his arms raised for a few seconds.
I know he played another song, that I'm forgetting right now....
I wished he played "The Calendar Hung Itself" seeing as that is possibly my top favorite song, or maybe just more from Fevers and Mirrors...my favorite album of theirs. But, I'm not complaining, it was a good show.

When we got there, it was already packed, but we managed to be on the floor and move our way towards the front.  Once Bright Eyes was on, a few of us made it to the "third/fourthish row" seeing as it was general admission, but I don't know how else to describe our places.   The only bad thing is being short, but hey, I managed, stayed on my tippytoes most of the time. And also thanks to the lady who saw me next to her and said, "You're tiny for this," and pushes me in front of her so I can be closer.

The ride there and back was amusing. We watched Anchorman mainly, played hangman ..even though Chris just made up random letters, and we just talked, remembered good times, old concerts.
