~Chapter 1~
The prince of Fairies, was a kind young boy with beautiful features. Each foxy-like eyes enclosed a warm brown orb, a cute perked up nose and m-shaped lips, and his skin was smooth, milky white. He was petite for his age, yet was unexpectedly well-versed in the ways of combat. The was the perfect fairy everyone liked, Lee Sungmin.
Sungmin entered the mysterious forest, in the hope of losing his chasing fans. He knew that this forest linked them to the other land, the Elfs. From what he learnt, their prince was also a pretty faced being, full of emotions yet generally childish. He was Lee Donghae, deep soulful eyes, with a charming smile, centre of all the attention. The faire folks had magic, but they were all good magic, thus fights never happened in this Mundos. At least he knew self defence, be it magical or physical, he was fit enough, hence he dared to go in. It was a gigantic forest, exhausting him out fast with tightly knitted branches and rootes jutting out from the floor. Not long after, he decided to take a nap, behind a fallen tree. Unknown to him, he was being stalked.
"What the-?!" Sungmin had the fright of his life. He had woken up to a pair of blue, sparkling eyes looking straight at him, if it was for the blink of the other's eyes. He would have thought it was a dead person hung upside down right in his face.
"Hi! Nice to meet you!" The said guy dropped down, landing flat on his back beside Sungmin's legs, then sitting up cutely. "I'm Donghae! You?" Donghae chirped happily, mouth curving into a wide smile and thus eyes pressed together into a line.
"S-Sungmin, Lee."
"Wow... You have such smooth skin..." Donghae cooed, reaching out to stroke Sungmin's face, but retracted immediately, seeing Sungmin flinch. "I'm the prince of Elfs! Lee Donghae. Sorry... I'm a little touchy..." He blushed, playing with his fingers like a nervous teenage girl confessing.
"Ah, Donghae... Wow such a conicidence! I'm also a prince, the prince of faires... Um I was just a little shocked just now, other than that I'm fine with skin ship." Sungmin smiled, trying the ease the tension of the other boy. Noticing that the latter didn't seem to believe his words, Sungmin simply smiled gently, reaching over to grab Donghae's hand in his and bringing it up to his cheek. "There! Go on, you may feel it." Donghae grinned happily, roams ands circling Sungmin's puffy cheeks, pinching them once in awhile.
"You are so cute!" Came the remark after various 'manual face exercises'. "Can we be friends?" An unbearably cute pout followed the question, and Sungmin instantaneously gave a reassuring nod and smile. Yet thinking back, Sungmin hesitantly added.
"But... Our lands kind of forbid us to interact with the other kinds, don't they?" A downcast look appeared on Donghae's face, causing Sungmin to quickly suggest. "So if we want to be friends, we will have to keep it a secret, ok?"
"Okay! So tomorrow morning, right here. I will be waiting for you!" A cheery reply and Donghae climbed the nearest tree, waving goodbye then leaping of branches with acrobatic skills, finding his way out back home. Sungmin released a sigh, wondering what kind of taboo had he broken, as he stood up and made his way back to his palace.
They kept up this secret meeting, lasting for months. Every meeting was filled with their own adventure stories they had, mostly as a kid,
Donghae was a pretty much innocent boy, with an unending imagination of games they would play every time they met. He was child-like, friendly, open, and optimistic. He holds the special ability to control organisms of the kingdom Plantae, being as green an Elf could be. Unlike Sungmin, who has an ability of healing, aside from his majestic blue pair of angel wings which separates him from the others.
To Donghae, Sungmin was an extraordinary character. He was obviously a male, yet inhibits various feminine features. Sungmin loved cooking, his favourite foods were pumpkin and a kind of sweet flavoured drink with black round chewable stuff inside -bubble tea, Sungmin had called it. From his foxy eyes to his m-shaped lips, donning a long-haired wig could be the ultimate disguise, immediately turning him into a lass. He adored the colour pink, and those small animals with long ears that hopped. Rabbits, was what those creatures were taught to him, but for the other, it was an quick trigger of "Oh my goodness, look at that unbelievable adorable fluff ball!"- well, fluff ball it was than.
They met everyday, the thrill of going against the elders' words motivated them further. Though they couldn't bring one another to meet their own groups of friends, they would sneak out at night and explore one another's kingdom, ducking behind walls and climbing onto roof tops, they did a lot of 'firsts' together. Inseparable best friends they had become.
One day, Donghae had brought his newly acclaimed 'book of myths' to show Sungmin, knowing how Sungmin really loved to read books, especially those of mythical stories about things that once, or could happen, in their land. He had previously taught Donghae about the different Worlds, or Realm like his great grandmother used to call it, and recounted it in the exact way his great grandmother did, lighting up another curiousity spark in Donghae.
Like his great grandmother used to say, "The many different Realms are, or used to be, connected, through the 'magical bridges'. If one could have most impossibly found one now, as it is even rarer then the most highly treasured Skull Diamond, with the correct spell, he would be able to travel to and fro the Realms he wanted. There was this man, a great hero as he was described, who had once managed to cross over the worlds. Yet he was a corrupted man, by greed, fame and power. He went on and assembled an army of his own, brought them down to the Realm of darkness, and went on a slaughter spree. Nearly every clan was wiped out, leaving only fifty to a hundred people per clan, all hidden during the massacre. As the war died down, these remaining survivors all had a similar plan -to destroy all the Pontes, immediately rendering any form of travelling between any 2 Realms. It is still unknown to all of us in this Universe whether there are still any remaining bridges, but there most likely won't be..."
And this story had Donghae all excited and interested, much more than Sungmin when he had first heard it -at the age of 7. He knew this story by heart for the pure fact that he had also ever wanted to find one for himself, believing in miracles was what his mind followed.
While in the Tenebris...
