Questions I Guarantee You've Never Answered
*Ditto marks indicate identical answer as Anne, whom I stole this from.

1. Do you watch the Gilmore Girls?
I have watched it, and even enjoyed it, but that was probably situational. The writing was fun but acting hit-or-miss, except the grandparents who never got enough screen time.

2.Have you ever enjoyed listening to Jack Johnson?
"I don't even know who that is."

3.Have you ever seen or enjoyed watching the O.C.?
Never.

4.Do you have one or more Britney Spears C.D.s?
No no no no no.

5.Which radio stations are your favorites
NPR, especially on the weekends for such glories as Car Talk and Prairie Home Companion. Generally any station that isn't afraid to branch out of the narrow gap of the same stuff over and over again will find its way onto my presets.

6.Are you a Lost fanatic?
Yes, though I have large gaps in my viewing history. What I saw of Season 2 disappointed me, but Season 3's starting off nicely.

[[Be honest]]

7.Still have pictures of your Ex?
Exes, and yes.

8.Do you have a song by Ozzy Osbourne in your library?
Nope.

9.Queen?
Yes, plus 3 greatest hits albums I haven't copied to my hard drive.

10.Alanis Morsette?
"Yep."

11.Do you watch Family Guy regularly?
I used to. Any TV I watch now is unplanned luxury, except for BSG on Friday nights.

12.King of the Hill?
Used to. Fantastic show that made a wonderful contribution and was/is unappreciated.

[[Admit it]]

13.Do you read trashy romance novels often?
I read Tom Clancy, which is the guy version.

14.Do you really work out every day?
I've never claimed to, though I try to keep up with the deal I made to myself that the privilege of having an iPod means I no longer have an excuse to be a stranger to the gym.

15.Have you ever eaten an entire pint of ice cream by yourself?
Ice cream makes me sick, though that doesn't stop me from enjoying it for the few minutes before I get sick. Short answer, no.

16.Have you ever eaten nothing but junk food for a week straight.
No. A balanced diet nourishes the soul.

17.Do you shower every single day?
Weekends have been known to get problematic.

18.Do you ever forget to give a Christmas/birthday present?
Yeah, pretty regularly. Sorry.

19.Do you sing obnoxiously in the car?
Yes, and Yes.

20.Do you sing obnoxiously in the shower when no one's home?
Yes, and Yes, and Yes.

21.Have you ever watched a little kid's show when you were over 12?
Indeed, especially since the niece came along. Most of the Nickelodeon stuff is total crap, though there are definitely some good things out there on PBS and Noggin'.

22.Have you ever looked forward to going to school?
Yes, especially after this past summer. Now I also look forward to leaving it for a while.

[[The Necessary Love Questions That Aren't So Necessary]]

23.Have you ever pretended your crush was with you when they weren't?
How? Pretend I'm holding hands with them? Or pretend I'm having a conversation? Or just pretending the crush is mutual? Either I'm crazy, horribly confused, or a stalker. Yes to all three.

24.Did you draw pictures for your first crush back in elementary school?
I don't draw in a way that fits others' traditional aesthetic tastes. I probably just hung around them and smiled awkwardly. That strategy continues to this day.

25.Have you ever liked a girl/boy but didn't ask her/him out because you were afraid?
"I've had crushes on plenty of people, and I don't think I've really asked out more than one or two of them (and in those cases, the "asking out" was kind of a mutual thing)."

26.Have you ever written a poem or story about your life?
I've never tackled fiction prose, and the poetry is generally more situational and focused than autobiographical.

27.Have you ever spent over an hour thinking about nothing but your crush?
No. The only things I can concentrate on for that long are math problems or other things where I have to juggle 15 things in my head and try to come up with an answer.

28.Have you ever liked someone solely for their appearance?
"Probably. I've never dated anyone whom I liked solely based on appearance, though."

[[The Questions You Love: Completely and Utterly Pointless Ones]]

29.Do you eat all the servings in the food groups on a daily basis?
If they're all in a Hokie Club, then yes. If not, then unlikely.

30.Are you ever a freak about cleanliness or organization?
Sporadically, often reactively. If I feel at all overwhelmed then I'll suddenly insist on being very organized -- e.g., the 15 Post-It notes sitting next to me that I made before Thanksgiving to plan out every day after Thanksgiving. I always outline papers that I'm writing. I'm clean but not tidy, in the sense that I have a lot of clothes lying around but go nuts if there are flies or smells or anything like that.

31.Have you ever been to South America or Africa?
Both. Chile in 9th grade over the 98/99 Holiday, and Cairo in Summer 2005. Those are both technically part of the continents listed, but I think I missed out on the really "defining" geography, cultures, etc. The Nile and Sahara are quite amazing to see from the air, though.

32. Do you know how to knit?
I consider such domestic arts black magic, and I admire anyone who can do them. Lots of girls here, especially the engineers, take up knitting for fun and relaxation, which I think is pretty cool.

33.Do you have a cell phone or iPod with a patterned cover?
Yes, Yes, No.

34.Have you ever written love song lyrics yourself and put them in your profile?
Probably? I've rewritten lyrics to old tunes and written short little rhyme/poem things.

35.Do you keep a diary or journal online?
Surely this question wasn't necessary.

36.When you open your closet, what is the dominant color of your closet?
Blue, Maroon, Orange. The first because of blue jeans and my affinity for the color; the latter two for obvious reasons.

[[Truly Unusual This or That Questions]]

Where is 37?
Is this the question? Clever.

38.America or Canada?
To the degree that they are separate countries, America. I think it's good for us to have a mildly retarded gentle giant younger brother to watch over, though. It teaches us responsibility and humility.

39.Physics or chemistry?
Physics for the beauty, chemistry for the practicality. I get frustrated to no end when the Organic Chemistry book gives completely felonious explanations for things like chemical bonding. The parts of chemistry that are really beautiful are all really just physics problems, and physics has a heck of a lot more to offer than that.

40.Earphones or headphones?
I use the terms synonymously, though I can see how there would be a difference. Earphones on the iPod, headphones for the computer. The earphones tend to cause less "oh that really really hurts" when I have them on.

41.pink or teal?
Car: teal. Room: teal. Cat: pink. Clothes: neither.

42.Earrings or a ring?
Despite my desire to have an earring in 2nd grade so I could be like my sister's boyfriend and that redneck-but-popular kid who also had a rattail, I'm just fine w/ my class ring.

43.Commitment or casual dating?
Who's asking?

44.Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings?
Not really on the same level so far as I can tell. Harry Potter is really cool with lots of simple truths, fun characters, and imaginative settings. Lord of the Rings calls us to question ourselves, our lives, and our civilization/culture far more deeply.

45.Fly or road trip?
To get from A to B, I'll take flying, even though I get scared out of my mind for the first 2 minutes of a flight. If the whole point is to enjoy the sites and the people with me, then nothing beats a road trip.

46.Starbucks or Caribou?
Well, I like Starbucks for the coffee, and I've never tasted or been around a caribou, so I guess I'll have to go with Starbucks.

[[Another Wave of Random Questions]]

47.What is your favorite Disney movie?
Hmm ... was Emperor's New Groove Disney? I guess 101 Dalmatians, Lion King, and Little Mermaid. I haven't seen Aladdin in forever. At one point I new all the words to all the songs in Aladdin, Little Mermaid, and Lion King.

48.How much jewelry do you own?
1 college class ring, 1 high school class ring, 1 Panasonic Academic Challenge 3rd place ring. My pocket watch. Cheapo Wal Mart watch. Other stuff?

49.Have you ever bought clothing at Sears?
I've gone shopping by myself for clothes for myself exactly twice. It seems probable I've worn something that was bought there, though my mother always went to places like Belk's or JC Penney or Dillards.
