I think I'm almost ready for our trip to the snow. Yesterday I orderded snow boots for
Niels and for
myself. Today, I see that they have some colors of the boots I ordered myeslf
on overstock! I just ordered the green ones and I'll send back the full price ones (I was going to get red) when they get here. I'm willing to compromise on color for $20, minus the cost of the return shipping but they gave me free shipping on the green boots. Anyway, I am feeling more ready for the snow. My mom said she'd make me the
coat that
heddicraft recommended. I'm leaning towards getting
darkest green Windbloc polartec. It's hard to know what those colors really look like, though. Maybe I should just get black.
I still don't know what I'm going to wear on my legs. I don't expect to get very wet so jeans will probably be fine. I might need leggings underneath to keep warm but I have those too, so it's not a big deal. I want to knit some warm mittens for Niels before we go but I'm not sure what to knit them out of. I have some wool I could use, if it doesn't kill me. I also have some Plymouth Encore which is wool/acrylic blend which might be a better idea to use. Or I could order a hank of
decadence but I'm not sure if alpaca is all that waterproof either. Decisions, decisions!
