I kind of like the idea of using it as warm up - I found it to be a bit of a bonding experience with everyone else in the group. Even though I'd never played music with these people before, doing the experiment at the beginning of the class made it much easier to feel like part of the group. But for the record, I understand your concerns, and it's definitely something to think about a bit more before giving it the go-ahead.
I'll definitely try and make it back next thursday (if no one minds, that is!).
