after thisJustine's out of the hospital they put her in. Seems that bastard Manners ordered his thugs to frame her when they kidnapped me. Anyway, I met her parents. Her mother has this horrified look each time she glances in my direction. I don't think she believes me about turning twenty next week. Her father is okay. I mean, at least he doesn't ( Read more... )

Justine waits till her parents are in bed. She gives them a good half an hour and goes to knock on Stephen's door.

Connor is at the door in a flash. These are the advantages of non-human senses; he can smell who it is if he's not being distracted.

Opening it, he had fully intended to make a mature and relaxed comment like "It's good to see you alone at last", or, again, "I'm sorry you went through this", or perhaps a joke like "Ms. Cooper, I presume?" but somehow this is not how it plays out. Instead of making said comment, he just grabs her and kisses her as if he doesn't have a need to breathe.

She opens her mouth to say something about him, her parents, some exclamation for the dynamic he's found himself in. It's an awkward situation. She's a different Justine in someways around them. And around them she's the child.

She wouldn't say it to him but she's used to Stephen being the child.

But she doesn't have a chance to speak, he's all over her before she can say a word. It takes her a moment, and she does repond, but then she pushes him away and into the room.

"My mother's already had three heart attacks since she got here. Dad can't cope with anymore."

Somewhere between embarrasssed, happy and frustrated, he says:

"But why? They should be happy. Nobody is holding you prisoner anymore."

*challenging*

"So what is there to have a heart attack about?"

Daring her to say it. That they're not suitable.

Excuse me, did you just ban me from the state of California? You DO know that I have business concerns in Silicon Valley that, like most of my concerns, have nothing to do with you?

And you're welcome, by the way.

You know exactly what I mean. Look, it's not that I'm not grateful for the rescue, though man, your fighting skills really suck, and don't get near my throat when I'm on drugs, because I so could have killed you without meaning to. But ever since I met you and then saw Darla again, the craziness is back. So of course you can buy all of California and replace Schwartzenegger - just don't do the spying thing again, okay?

Yes, Connor.

You could kill me.

Go on believing that.

We have in no way been through this before.

And I won't spy if you can keep the bitch away from Darla.

OOC: Hey, I'm sorry I haven't been around much, had a lot of academic stuff to deal with but I'm back. I don't know if you want to get into a plot with Connor & Angel, I was just leaving a message to see how you felt about it and how you wanted to go about the plot.

ooc: I'd like that, of course, as Connor & Angel is always good drama, but you'd have to be reliable, because finding out where Angel is (I played it so far as Connor not having heard from him since NFA) would naturally be a big change for Connor, and would impact the dynamic he has with Justine as well. (Keeping her from killing Darla was tough enough, but Angel?) So if you do just one post and dissappear again, it wouldn't be good for the pup. If otoh you'll continue to be available, fantastic!

occ: well now that all my academic studies are over until October I'm pretty much free and avalible all the time! What kind of post do you want from Angel? Like in the form of a phone call, or him watching Connor from a distance and which post of your pups would you like me to reply to? I use msn if thats any help?

I don' use instant messenger. But an Angel comment on the latest post about Quortoth should do nicely. A phonecall, alas, is unlikely, as Connor is currently - due to previous events - sans cell phone and in a hotel in Utah -, so it should be literary an lj comment.
