Justine waits till her parents are in bed. She gives them a good half an hour and goes to knock on Stephen's door.

Opening it, he had fully intended to make a mature and relaxed comment like "It's good to see you alone at last", or, again, "I'm sorry you went through this", or perhaps a joke like "Ms. Cooper, I presume?" but somehow this is not how it plays out. Instead of making said comment, he just grabs her and kisses her as if he doesn't have a need to breathe.

She opens her mouth to say something about him, her parents, some exclamation for the dynamic he's found himself in. It's an awkward situation. She's a different Justine in someways around them. And around them she's the child.
She wouldn't say it to him but she's used to Stephen being the child.
But she doesn't have a chance to speak, he's all over her before she can say a word. It takes her a moment, and she does repond, but then she pushes him away and into the room.
"My mother's already had three heart attacks since she got here. Dad can't cope with anymore."
