'I'll survive- I have to.'

This is my last weekend home. When I come back to visit nothing will be the same- this won't be my house anymore. It won't be my bedroom anymore and I won't have my spot at the dinner table anymore.
Visit. It's such a temporary word...

Driving all over town every weekend trying to decide what we should do tonight until it was too late and we had to go home. Making food runs in Newpaper and eating everyone else's share in the car. The scent that processing film left on my fingers. "Our Row."  Driving to Molly's house for lunch and singing The Academy Is... at the top of our lungs. Laguna Beach Parties. Sneaking out of class just to have a cigarette.  Rubber-Band Wars in the King Soopers parking lot. Cheering front row at football games. Walking out of work to find the nicest messages written on my car windows. Bonfires and melting Halloween candy at Michael's. Sneaking in from breaking curfew. Running to Wal-Mart at 2 in the morning for hair dye because me and Julie got bored. Swimming at Cassie's at 11 o'clock at night, secretly taking shots with the boys who shouldn't have been there. The Hook-up couch in my basement. Passing notes. My fireplace and bathtub and full-size bed. Doing our nails together with my mom. Drawing with chalk on the driveway. Watching the clouds go by and making life stories for the airplanes in the sky. My daddy's loud snoring. Walking around Lake Loveland every summer night with the girl who knows me inside and out and the boy that almost meant something. Dancing in my underwear and heels in front of the mirror. Skipping rocks. Playing tennis. Riding the bus. Prom dress shopping. Watching "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" after smoking three bowls in that apartment. Laying on my bed and taking a million pictures. The chaos from all the animals in this house. The boys of summer. Smoking cigars on the interstate. Rodeos and Eagles games. Birthday dinners. Chai and long discussions after a bad day. Sleepovers. Fishing at Watson Lake and eating at Vern's. Building late night snowmen and TP wars. Every single face from last night.
