and even more of an update, for the interested.
Andre- What song did you sing at the AIDS Benefit?
Me- "Anything Goes" and "For Good"
Andre- "For Good?"
Me-It's that song from "Wicked"
Fisher Neal- Isn't that a girl's song?
Me- Yes, but I don't like to dwell on that fact, Fisher.

A little update
This weekend has been quite a hassle, but very successful indeed.
The Broadway Cares/AIDS Benefit went much better than I expected. The rehearsal was...well, it wasn't the ideal way for rehearsal to turn out, but in the end, as long as the show was wonderful, thats all that really matters. I felt like a bitch at times, but I still feel justified in my actions. I wanted this show to be the best it could be, and there needed to be some voice of reason willing to stand up for the good of the show, I tried and failed in places, but such is life. I sang "Anything Goes" (Gosh, I seem to be singing that song an awlful lot lately huh?) and "For Good" "Anything Goes" was fun and happy, and "For Good" also went well, I was just happy to sing with Jonathan. We sing a mean duet! and OMG! Can I just saw Candra's voice is justs soooo amazing. I seriously wish I had a recording of her version of "Losing My Mind" She has such depth and soul and...its just perfection. I do believe she is now my favorite singer at UT! So yea, good show.
My audition for "Big River" went ok...I guess good enough because I got a callback. The fact that I got a callback at all was enough for me to celebrate since it was my very first callback to a CBT show and it made me all kinds of happy, let me tell ya! Also, the fact that Jon Jon and Sam also recieved callbacks made me ever happier! Then I went to the callbacks, and boy am I glad that I decided to listen to and learn the song "Worlds Apart" last night, because thats what I had to sing. It was me and six other black guys, being called back for Jim or slaves in general, and we quickly went over the song a couple of times, then each of us sung it. That was it, we were finished. The cast list will be up Tues or Wed. and given what I saw, I have high hopes for getting "Jim," of course if I don't, I am sure it is for the best.
Now, relaxing, this week, EAR TRAINING, EAR TRAINING, EAR TRAINING...and preparing for juries.
