ROAK Interest?
Ok Ladies, It's that time of the year again, and there's been some chatter about the annual LJ ROAK. In the past, Kara ( mrsshoegal) has done a fabulous job organizing, but i think i remember her mentioning last year that it was a lot of work, and she probably wouldn't be able to organize again this year. I'm happy to take it on this year and hopefully i'll be able to live up to the great job she did these past few years!
I'm making this post public because i know there were always many people involved that weren't always on each other's FL's, so once again, it's open to anyone , and i'll try to match up with people who are already friends. Definitely post on your journal if you can so we can be sure to catch anyone who's interested.
Since it's already November 16th (!), i'm just going to go ahead and start getting names and info and get this ball rolling. I'll pair everyone up on the 27th and try to send out emails to everyone that weekend. (b/w 111/27- 11/29). Roak can run from 12/01 - 12/20 to give everyone time to send out one big gift, or a few smaller gifts, cards, etc.
Like the years before, I think it's best that we set a limit on what amount you can spend. I'm going to screen comments, but let me know in the poll below what you think a good budget is, and once i get a good feeling for what people want, i'll clarify the budget in here.

What else should you know if you're going to participate?
1. ROAK is like a Secret Santa gift exchange. You will be randomly assigned a buddy to send gifts to during the holiday season (12/01/09 - 12/20/09). I'll try my best to make sure everyone is matched to someone on their friends list. Remeber, your buddy is not necessarily the same person who received you as their buddy. You may send one gift, or multiple gifts. (You may even split up smaller gifts in to one shipment wrapped seperately for you buddy to open on different days - a few people did this last year and I remember it being a big hit (and it saves on shipping costs!)).
2. Gifts can be whatever you'd like, and feel free to send cards, candies, baked goods, books, magazines, gift cards, etc. Whatever you think your buddy might like. You will be provided with her responses to the questions above, so you'll have something to go on.
3. Even if you haven't participated before, you're welcome to join in, but it is best if you're still an active LJ member. This way your buddy will still know what's going on in your life and you'll catch any updates along the way.
4. Don't forget to post pictures of the gifts you receive during ROAK! Half the fun is seeing what everyone is recieving during the holidays, and getting to thank your secret buddy.
5. I'll do a full reveal post after the 20th to let everyone know who their ROAK pal was, but you're also welcome to include your name (and LJ ID) in your last package to your buddy so they know who to thank.
And don't forget to use your LJ buddy's address as the TO and FROM addresses, as many people might be able to guess who their buddy is by seeing their address.
