I'm sitting in a dean and deluca waiting for some ladies from my moms group to get here, so I have a few minutes.
Let me just say first - Olivia slept 8 hours last night!!! 10pm - 5:55am halleluia!!
Yesterday I was feeling like crap - just tired and worn down, and this morning I feel like a new person. Who knows if she'll keep it up, but I'll take what I can get.
So here's a recap of her sleeping:
She's typically going to bed around 10/10:30 and sleeping b/w 3-5 hrs in a row, the we nurse, change her if needed, and she'll sleep another 2-3 hrs before we're up to nurse and change again. Depending on the length of the 1st stretch, we might go back to sleep for another 1-2 hrs before getting up (some days 8am, but most closer to 9)
Last week we had a 5.5 hour stretch for the first time, and then a 7 hour stretch!!
On Monday night she slept 7hrs in the 1st stretch for the 1st time ever
Tuesday - back to a 3hr + two 2hrs
Wednesday - 7 hrs (!!)
And last night I 8 hrs - wahoo!
Who knows if she'll keep this up at all. I think as we figure out her daytime schedule her nighttime schedule will settle in
Right now daytime is hit or miss. She sleeps on and off throughout the day, but there's no real distinct nap time.
When did your kids start showing a more distinct nap schedule during the day. I don't want to force a schedule on her, but I also need to get mself back into some sort of routine now that I'm working from home so that I'm not always having to work when kyle's home to make up for what I couldn't do during the day.
On a similar "scheduling" note. What time does/did your 2 month old go to bed? We've been doing a bath/bedtime/nurse routine around 9 and getting her to sleep around 10, but it seems so late.
Last night we moved the routine up and tried to put her to sleep at 8pm, so that I could attempt a dream feed at 10. No dice. She wasn't fussy, but she just laid in her pack n play staring at me for an hour before we picked her up to re-do the bedtime routine. Is 8 too early for an 8wk old?
What's worked best for you?
- oh gotta run. The ladies are here. Be back later with more :)
olivia,
