I don't know how I'll make it through the fourth season of The Wire...all those cute little kids...and knowing what their fate will be. But it's oh so good...
Saw the premiere (or rather, one of four times it is premiered) of Esa-Pekka Salonen's new Piano Concerto. Pretty great...I mean, as good as it can be for modern music, I suppose. I did appreciate the pre-concert talk/Q & A.
Since there have been three (confirmed) cases of scratched corneas in my department (one of them being the assistant manager), they've ordered an environmental inspection of our department. Halleujah! I've been snooping around on the EPA's website for weeks now researching Sick Building Syndrome. I bet there are fiberglass shards shooting out of the air vents. And god knows what the dismantling of the Deutsche Bank building next door is bringing in. Sick. At least they're FINALLY looking into it.
I have light!!! After all the lights in the living room suddenly went out, I finally got my ass downstairs and got a ladder from the landlord and replaced my lightbulb. It's amazing how much better my room feels with light...after two and a half months.
Saturday, there's a swing dance event with Barbara Morrison and George Gee playing together. Isaac's coming to town. With Jenny.
Nick and I are thinking about going on a cruise sometime in the next year. Probably to Europe. I'm kind of excited. Though, I was watching the BNL podcasts and they had a bunch of videos from the Ships & Dips cruise (that sadly, I missed)...and it made me really sad to have missed it. So, I might try to go on that if they do it again next year. Two cruises in a year? Is that excessive? Or is it just making up for lost time?
Thinking about taking random classes for the hell of it thorough NYU, Columbia, CUNY or Pratt. Need to keep my mind from atrophying. Unfortunately, might have to skip work to do it and plunk down hundreds of dollars. We'll see if this happens.
Nick's taking me to see a show or something for Christmas on Friday. I'm intrigued.
