Happy Belated MayDay/Beltane!

here's a poem for ya - written 5/1/2

Beltane Baby

Burn
The fires of Beltane
Make way for Mother Spring.
In her fresh new flesh
She comes undone.
The veil is put away.
Her arrival is known
And sacrifices made
To ensure growth.

I give of my newly acquired,
Newly lost youth,
My freedom,
Life of ease;
I sacrifice my Self.
My time,
My dreams,
For family,
I give my love,
That it may abound.

The fires around me
Consume my old, dead life
And I am born again.
I turn, as they burn,
From Maiden to Mother,
I am in-between.
I bury the non-living past,
I carry the animate future,
I burn
With the Fire of Spring.
