I swear this is getting ridiculous. Last week, one of the nurse practitioners asked me to start seeing Dr. Washburn's patient that is over on PCU. This patient is in respiratory isolation. So everytime I go in there, I have to suit up. Gown, gloves, face mask, etc. I wash my hands before putting all this stuff on and I wash my hands when I take everything off. It's ridiculous because I spend almost 45 minutes over there. Whatever. It makes me look good in the doctor's eyes. So I go from this isolation room back to my regular unit. Because I am all suited up, I (and everyone else around me) think I will be okay.
I'm getting ready to leave work today, and I heard the infectious disease doctor tell the charge nurse that a patient that I have been working with for the past two days also needs to be in respiratory isolation for the same thing. However, the doctor didn't think that Dr. Cohen would want his patient in an actual isolation room. That's stupid. So anyways, the nurses were like "it's Abby's fault." Jokingly, of course. And I told them that I was just spreading the love.
I guess if I end up hospitalized, you will all know why.
