hello hello. how is all? good glad to heare it.
as usual, i have nothing to tell you about. so maybe i'll tell you a bit about work. work...is...good. how was that? ok. not good enough.
so lets think. well, you learn some very interesting things when you work in a lawyers office - some of which i probably shouldnt know. oh well. if im doing the work, then i get to know the good stuff. its only fair, right?
so we have this one client who is fighting for custody of her child, who now lives in vancouver with the dad. the problem, is that shes had a bit of a problem with, well, lets just say drugs. (like my euphemisim? me too) so shes had to go through court ordered drug tests to make sure she remains negative, right? except when we got the latest drug tests this week, it turns out that ms. "sniffy" hasnt laid off the b'samim...if you know what i mean ("joey, we ALWAYS know what you mean...) so fine. drugs. not the end of the world right? (hey, im in social work - i cant judge!) but it is when you're trying to get custody, or at least more access to your three year old child. and it doesnt help either when you're in jail!!! i dont know why she was in jail, but let me just say one thing - given her umm...habits, i doubt it was because she was opposing the hitnatkut.
now im supposed to be typing up this nice letter to the client that says that basically, things dont look good for us (no kidding) but... it might be ok, because the husband ain't no shinin' star either. so while im typing this letter, and finding out all these juicy details, her new husband comes in. so now im under pressure to finish the letter quickly cuz hes there. now, how am i supposed to learn these great (i mean sad...) things when i have to hurry? well, ill tell you. it was hard, but i did it.(what? and miss out on the good stuff? ha! why do you think i work there? oh yeah, money...)
anyways so afterwards, at 4:30, brian sent me home. so on the way to the subway, through the Bay, i bump into Jordan. (background: jordan is howards son. howard is my mom's boss but also they're very close family friends. and jordan is working there this summer - which is the same building where i work) so anyways we start talking and he says oh if you're going home, ill go with you, if you want to wait. so i figure he'd just have to go back up and get his stuff but apparently he wasnt leaving until 5:00. so i said nah, i dont think im going to wait 20 minutes... but i ended up talking to him anyways until 4:55 so i figure fine, now i might as well wait. so i go with him to my mom's/howard's office. at 5:15 im still waiting for him. then my mom says shes getting ready to leave too but it turns out jordan was only leaving at 5 because his dad was. but his dad was still with a client... so...i shook my fist real hard at that guy, on account of i didnt know that little thing. :) finally, at 5:30 everyone leaves. then, walking back through the Bay, they all have this urge to stop and look at the nice lawn furniture which was on sale. c'mon!!! after much diddle-daddling, i finally get home at 6:30!! two hours after i finish work....could have been home just before 5:30... oh well.
so brian decides he's taking a long weekend (Nehama: "mmhmm...and when IS this weekend? lol) even though hes not the government, which means i get a long weekend too. woohoo! hes taking both friday and monday off so he wants me in one of those days but i get to choose which... i love being in charge...
anyways, im so excited for shabos (no, not because of creepy shule dude...im actually not looking forward to that part) but because since monday ive thought it was thursday. one of those weeks...
and another is on the way...
