End o’ June

I am at a coffee shop in downtown Mesa. They have reopened and I am sipping my coffee in the corner. Social distancing, lol. It’s pretty flimsy the level of precaution that they have put in place, but better than nothing, I suppose. I have been cooped up and I am itching to leave the house. As a result I am here, though honestly I don’t feel super safe. I suppose that if I were to stay away that would be best. But yesterday was not a great day and I needed to get outdoors.

I have a mask. More than can be said for everyone. Mesa has a required mask ordinance, but it seems they are not enforcing that mess. Loads of chumps in here maskless. It figures. The worlds is doomed for sure.

In a couple short weeks I will be traveling to Alabama again what to visit my father and to deal with some of my stuff in storage, although I am somewhat dreading the trip. I have to pass through Texas and Louisiana, states hard-hit by the Covid. Additionally cases are on the rise in Mississippi and Alabama. Only state that I’ll pass through where cases are on the decline is New Mexico. Not coincidentally that is the only “blue state” I’ll pass through.

And in political news the governor of the desert waste called Arizona issued a executive order that schools remain closed in until August 26th. No idea how the start of the school year is going to shape up, reckon we’ll find out.
