You know what I love about Hank Williams? He's utterly uncomplicated. He doesn't have to make allusions or metaphors or use any other poetic devices. He tells a simple story about something horrible that happened to him and his new outlook on the world because of it, and sings it from the heart. The guy fucking yodels. And it's beautiful every time
