*finally crawls out from her livejournal stalkerdom to actually post*
La Chiam! My sister, her good friend Rich, and myself went to see Swell Season last night. I might just still be coming down the high that going to a live concert always creates, but it was AWESOME. The audience itself was fun and chill and responsive, the music was beautiful and engaging, and everyone stayed seated so that I could acutally see the band. Normally my 5'3 person has some 6 foot tall hipster blocking my view the entire time. Not last night! I missed not a moment from the really wonderful opening singer (this really funny Irish folk singer with good stories) to the moment when Glen Hansard went off mic and sang "Say It To Me Now" busker-style. We could hear him perfectly from the second terrace. Wonderful.
Halloween was chill and lovely. Considering that I had to work 8 hours that day, I don't think that I was really up to a party. Nick helped me throw a last minute Charlie Chaplan costume together that turned out quite nice. Nick also went raven haired and dressed up as Robert Smith (lead singer of the Cure which, let's face it, who hasn't wanted to dress like him once or twice). Amanda covered herself (and our bathroom sink) in fake blood and went as a blood bank nurse/tech person. Beth and John went steam punk this year, and my sister went as Medusa, yet failed to turn us all to stone with her stare. Clearly her costume was not a sucess.
In just three days I will be heading to Disneyworld to end the Wright family's vacation dry spell. It has be quite a long time since we have been able to all get together as a family in an exotic locale, and I am HYPED. This also means that I will not be home for my birthday (sadface). But I was thinking that we could all go out to dinner (or just stay in for dinner) together that following weekend (the 13th-15th). Feedback on these plans would be glorious.
Okay, lunch break is over. Back to work!
